What's In Your Box?
You often ask, "Is Forty Acres' produce organic?"
The simple answer is, "Sometimes." The explanation is a bit more detailed.
Accessibility is central to Forty Acres Fresh Market's mission and affordability is key to making fresh food accessible to all. We all know that certified organic produce tends to come with premium pricing.
To maintain affordability we primarily purchase conventionally grown produce. We also source from local growers who are unable to afford the USDA certification but use the same sustainable growing practices.
However, when we find USDA organic items at the right price, we do not pass them up. This week we hit a couple of organic jackpots.
If you are looking to add some organic produce to your box, right now we have organic broccoli, spinach, and delicata squash. Order a $20 Veggie Box and in the notes tell us which organic produce you would like to have included.
